Qualification and Testing
What does highly qualified mean?
Under the No Child Left Behind law, a candidate must be defined as "highly qualified" in order to be eligible to be hired in most cases. To meet this requirement a candidate must satisfy one of the following :

24 hours of college level coursework in the specified area (subject) of certification (12 hours must be at the Junior or Senior level)

-
Pass the State TExES content exam in the specified area.
