| I have not heard much about Self Contain thus far in my training, and I would like to hear from anyone who is even a little familiar with it. I'm going to guess that it relates to independent learning. |

| I teach a self-contained Social Development class. The few students that I have are in my room because of serious behavioral issues. The way I have it set up is that their previous teachers send me their lesson plans and work so I can administer them in my room. For the most part my students function at grade level. However the typical self contained classroom usually has students with sever mental handicaps. Actually these self contained classrooms are getting smaller and smaller because these students are going out into the general education classes with support. |
